Relay-for-Life Fund Raiser
On Monday, March 22nd, Applebee's will donate a portion of food sales to the LMS student Relay-for-Life team. You must bring a copy of the flyer with you when you go to eat or pick up your take-out. Click here to print out the flyer; give the second copy to a friend!!
Karen Land Visits Lufkin Middle School
On Thursday, March 4th, Karen Land and her dog Borage visited LMS to talk about dog mushing and her experiences in the Iditarod Trail Dog Sled Race. Karen participated in the Iditarod in 2002, 2003, and 2004. Her interest in the Iditarod all began with reading a book written by Gary Paulsen. All of our 6th grade students read a story by Paulsen which led to investigation about mushing and the Iditarod.
